MCA Wrinkle Therapy

MCA (Multitrepannic Collagen Actuation) Explained

MCA still uses a very fine needle, we don't inject anything. The treatment causes a micro-trauma to the skin, in order to force it into a state of self-repair.

Our bodies are equipped with a DNA system and when injured, the body sends out the correct signals and tools which enable it to repair itself and heal. As the needle punctures the skin a wound is created which heals in 3 phases - inflammation, proliferation and tissue remodelling. When the needle enters the skin, it starts the inflammation phase. Fibroblasts cells that give rise to connective tissue move into the affected area and start to produce collagen and elastin to help the healing process. Although the procedure does damage the skin and cause minor bleeding, the skin is essentially regenerating itself. Following a treatment, the area is left with a fine red scratch mark, which forms a scab and heals within 5-7 days.

Some clients notice the benefit after just one treatment; others may require 5/6 treatments, one month apart - it is purely down to the bod's own repair system. What is known is how long the benefits will last, so we recommend a yearly maintenance.

MCA Wrinkle Therapy

The purpose of this method is to produce collagen cells through the healing process. Collagen and elastin are the keys to supple skin and the appearance of wrinkles is evidence that the skin is losing its elasticity and suppleness. By shocking the skin's defences back in to life, it will start to manufacture more collagen and elastin to help deal with the trauma it is suffering which can be specifically targeted plump or wrinkles and acne or pock marks.
